It's your turn to try to leave;
For everytime I try; I inevitably fail.
Just leave and never look back,
Hop off the dock, into the boat, and set sail.
Don't even think of turning around.
Or you'll see somethings you don't want to see.
You'll witness what you're abandoning.
You'll realize that you're leaving me.
I'll stand on the coast,
Waving goodbye; my arms in the air.
In a flash, you'll recall our life and the good times.
And you'll wish you were back there.
But then, I'll turn and walk away,
Leaving my footprints on the shore.
You'll want to come back,
You'll feel shaken to the core.
You'll realize how I had felt,
And what I went through
All those times, I tried and failed.
To get over, and leave behind you.
Leave with haste, I grant you Godspeed.
See if I notice, see if I care.
And when you return, try to find me.
And see if I'm still there.
But you'll be to late,
For I'll be long gone.
One of us had to leave,
And you simply took to long.
You'll look for me everywhere,
You'll feel hopelessly alone.
You'll realize with terror,
You forgot to check for a gravestone.
Run like the wind
Past the graveyard gate.
You'll realize that you should've never left.
But like I said, you realized to late.
This really is the only way,
To leave behind and forget,
Our happiness, our love,
And my every overpowering regret.
I know life is cruel and unfair,
But I did leave a note,
I know it's not enough,
The 'goodbye' will hurt the most.
I tried to let you go,
And leave you behind.
But it wasn't a connection of the body,
But of the heart and mind.

Yeah, it was a spur of the moment, major venting kind of deal.
I hope you feel better now that you vented some.
and yeah, it did help.
That was one of my favorite lines in this entire poem. XD
